Welcome to another month of the Crafty Chicks Blog Hop! If you are here, you are in the right place to start the hop! We decided that we would have a Free-for-all theme! You will be surprised at what cool and fun projects everyone has come up with!
This month, is the month of love. What better time to make babies! And it just so happens that a new client of mine wanted some baby shower soap party favors. I wanted to try out some ideas and see how I could use them and combine them to create earthy and neutral colored favors that are gender neutral.
If you have scrapbooking, card making or general paper crafts supplies, then I am sure you can find some interesting ones in your personal stash to use. I was low on a few things and had to buy them, such as the burlap and the jute twine and ribbon. But I had everything else on hand. The fun part is that you can mix and match your supplies to create a bunch of different looks! Here are some ideas of what you can use:
Scrapbooking paper (the thin kind, easy to fold)
Cardstock, ribbon, twine, cord, lace, skeleton leafs, stickers, die-cuts, stamps, ink, embossing powder, washi tape, tags, felt pens (metallic, opaque, calligraphy), raffia ribbon, crepe paper, and so much more!
There is really no need for a tutorial. All you need to do is cut strips of paper, use paper as a gift wrapping, tie bows and knots, and use your die cuts and die-cutting machine to make them. The rest is up to you. But here are some ideas. Some I made, some I didn`t.
- Layer burlap and ribbon (or twine, or cord);
- Wrap up a soap with paper as if it is a gift;
- Use a strip of paper and decorate it with stamps and embossing powder;
- Layer papers and ribbons
- Die-cut a box and add mini soap in them
- Wrap up your soaps with waxed paper and use colorful washi tape to keep everything in place.
- Use a tag and punch a hole at the top. Run some twine or cord through it and make a bow knot. It will keep the tag in place.
I hope you enjoyed some of these ideas! Please share your ideas for soap packaging with me below in the comment section! I am always looking for neat new ideas! Also, if you would like to learn how to make no fuss soap, I would recommend trying Melt and Pour soap making. You basically melt the soap base, add coloring and fragrance, and pour into your mold. It`s super easy, not that expensive and time saving! You also know exactly what it going into your soap and can make unique soaps that are tailored to your needs!
I might do a post on it when I get around to making my soap this weekend!
I also made a Pinterest board with ideas right here if you are a Pinterest fan!
